We found time for a nice chat and cappuccinos in the sunshine this morning.
As the old coffee ads used to say: “The pause that refreshes!”
(not necessarily in that order)

I think the animals have really been enjoying the increased moisture after the recent rain. I’ve noticed a lot more birds flying around our yard and even saw a couple of jackrabbits — which are usually only out and about before dawn or during twilight.
And then today, for the first time ever, I saw a bobcat!
I was sitting on the patio enjoying some afternoon sunshine when he walked by — a little way out from my chair — as cool as you please. I quickly (but quietly) ran inside to grab my glasses so I could be sure of what I was seeing, and sure enough that’s what it was.
I could see the short tail with a dark end, markings on the front legs, and the distinctive ears.
I didn’t have my phone to grab a pic but he looked almost exactly like the photo above. Incredibly beautiful, but I hope he doesn’t discover the chickens at Ananda Village’s goat dairy. 😟
I felt so blessed to wake up to blue skies today.
I mean, there’s nothing like three weeks of constant rain and clouds to remind one of how wonderful sunshine can be. 🌞
And then to arrive home at dusk and see the first star against indigo skies…bliss, indeed!
(I’m not the greatest photographer but I hope you can see it, just barely above the bare branches of the tree in the middle of the photo.)
I spent a good portion of this Sunday afternoon basking in the sunshine and the quiet.
It was so peaceful that I decided to take a short video to capture the stillness of the scene.
Only one problem — I was evidently so relaxed that I forgot to switch from photo to video mode! Hopefully some of the peace and quiet will come through the photo.
Now that it’s mid-November, I’m feeling the reality of short days and chilly weather.
Which is why there’s something incredibly delicious about finding a semi-sheltered spot on a sunny day and really soaking up some rays.
I indulged in this treat two times today, feeling pretty much like a cat enjoying its patch of sun.
A rather different day than yesterday.
I had a very early meeting, which threw off the new routine I just established, and left my energies feeling rather scattered.
Sitting in the sun and gazing at the autumn leaves ended up being the high point of the day.
Today was a day dedicated to some serious R&R. I’m getting quite good at it, I must say.
For example, I had not just one, but two sessions sitting outside on the patio, enjoying the sunshine and cool breeze.
These are all photos of the view from my zero gravity chair (I found the wisteria leaves to be rather mesmerizing).
And we spent part of the afternoon sitting on the Master’s Market lawn — enjoying the sunshine and blossoming trees; greeting friends as they walked by; and enjoying a muffin from Prita’s Cafe!
Spring is here and life is good. 😊
