Relaxed Sunday breakfast

We had every intention of attending Sunday service this morning.

But it was a lovely day; our patio garden is really coming together; and neither of us could remember the last time we spent such a relaxed morning together on a Sunday.

It was blissful.

Pity the church musicians

Of course I understand why “Spring Forward” happens on a Sunday. Really, I do!

That way the vast majority of (Mon-Fri, 9-5) people can choose to sleep in and ease their transition to Daylight Saving Time.

But pity the poor church musicians, who not only have to show up an hour earlier than usual…we have to sing!

Coffee will be a big part of my morning, for sure.

A productive Sunday

This morning was about singing for Sunday service (which included a beautiful talk by our friend, Erin!).

I spent the afternoon absorbed in reading the memoir of Maurice White and learning more about his vision for founding one of my all-time favorite bands: Earth, Wind & Fire. Really inspiring stuff, which I’ll probably share more about in the future.

Finally I needed to spend some time on my Italian, which has become a priority since we’ll be going to Europe in April to visit Ramesha’s family after an absence of almost four years. I’m determined to be able actually to converse with my in-laws and our close friends, so I’m quite grateful to have discovered a wonderful program called Italiano Automatico, which I’m listening to every day.

So the next installment of how I continued to get to know Swami Kriyananda will have to wait until tomorrow.

Sunday sunshine

I spent a good portion of this Sunday afternoon basking in the sunshine and the quiet.

It was so peaceful that I decided to take a short video to capture the stillness of the scene.

Only one problem — I was evidently so relaxed that I forgot to switch from photo to video mode! Hopefully some of the peace and quiet will come through the photo.

Sunday: day of rest…NOT!

This was one of those Sundays…

Up early for rehearsal before Sunday service.

More apartment clearing in the afternoon.

Then off to the office to work for a while.

Now it’s 8:00pm and I’m done. 😂
