Beautiful surrender
These two things caught my attention today. The artwork above and the poem by Rumi, below.
Be crumbled,
So wildflowers will come up
Where you are.
You have been stony for too many years.
Try something different.
Surrender.

At first I thought I might have to choose between sharing one or the other; that they didn’t really relate.
But then I realized that the reclining monks beautifully embody the essence of being fully surrendered. And that the ability to embrace our beautiful self — just as we are — is the essence of the something different that we really need to do.
The great secret
When I run after what I think I want,
my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety;
If I sit in my own place of patience,
what I need flows to me, and without pain.
From this I understand that
what I want also wants me,
is looking for me and attracting me.
There is a great secret in this
for anyone who can grasp it.
