Thinking about Lugano

I didn’t take this photo but it’s a great view of Lake Lugano and Monte Brè (which is to the left), with more mountains marching into the distance.

The yellow rectangle not too far above the water line is (approximately) where we stayed for a month.

Amazing how long ago it feels already.

A beautiful Switzerland moment

It was finally a day of truly beautiful weather, so we took some time this afternoon and went for a walk in the lovely town of Tesserete.

Below is a close-up of the group of mountains you see in the distance: Denti della Vecchia (which translates as “Teeth of the Old Woman”).

These are perhaps my favorites of the local mountains; they always draw me in whenever I see them.

Santa Barbara Day 1: Hammock weather

This photo says it all.

In a thirty minutes walk we saw at least four hammocks strung up between palm trees. What a great way and place to relax (our friend, Jeannie, would especially love it)!

It’s fun being back in the land of palm trees and I love the dramatic backdrop provided by the Santa Ynez Mountains.

The weather couldn’t be better: sunny and warm but with the glorious coastal breeze! We walked the path next to the beach in T-shirts (even Ramesha!).
