Eager for dinner

I’m meeting’d and computered out.

Yes, I know that’s not correct English, but it perfectly describes how I’m feeling.

In fact, I worked through lunch, snacking later on rice cakes and a little peanut butter. So, I’m also really hungry for dinner.

Bottom line? I don’t have the bandwidth or the brain power to write anything creative.

Playing blog hooky

Today was a full immersion back into my workaday world. Meetings, emails, and lots and lots of details.

So, tonight I’m playing blog hooky and not writing much of anything.

Building momentum

We had two meetings today. both of which — together with a couple of important meetings from last week — are adding to our sense of the increasing momentum and growing magnetism of the music ministry.

It’s a very good feeling!

Back in the saddle

I’m officially back to work, after months on disability.

For me, performing on Sunday service is part of my healing process, but the week-to-week, managerial duties have been in abeyance since before the transplant.

But today I had two meetings, then went through and organized a pile of notes. Not bad for my first day.

It definitely feels good to be back.

Communicated out

Medical appointment phone calls.
Answering questions phone calls.
Informative letters.
Email replies.
Updating calendars.
Setting up Zoom meetings.

No wonder I’m communicated out!

Christmas is coming

Two of my three meetings today were about… Christmas! Yep, from a church musician’s perspective, it’s right around the corner.

So, all evening I’ve had this nursery rhyme in my head:

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat
Please to put a penny in the old man’s hat;
If you haven’t got a penny, a ha’penny will do,
If you haven’t got a ha’penny then God bless you!

I would have shared the song but I couldn’t find a recording with the melody I know and love.

However, while double-checking the lyrics, I discovered that someone has written a version titled, “Christmas Is Coming and We Are Getting Fat!” Pretty funny.
