Perfect end to a perfect evening

This evening we had dinner with friends in their beautiful new home. There was laughter and sharing; there was delicious food and a incredible array of desserts.

To cap it all off, one of our hosts suggested watching “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” — and it was just exactly what I was needing in the midst of this busy week — to relax and chuckle and resonate with the heart-opening message of this enduring holiday classic.

Stink, stank, stunk

The instant I saw it I knew I simply had to have this Christmas ornament! Then I felt a moment of doubt, wondering whether it was too “negative.”

But what you have to understand is just how much I love “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (the original animated version, that is); I mean, I absolutely LOVE it!

So, yes, this ornament distills the year 2020 down to three extremely succinct words, but those three oh-so-descriptive words are also imbued — for me, at least — with a super-abundance of joy!

Bottom line? This slightly off-the-wall ornament makes me chuckle, which helps me keep this annus horribilis in perspective.

Another Temple “first”

Today was the first ever Christmas concert in the new Temple of Light…and what a concert it was!

Haven’t had a chance to view the video, but it sure felt good…and the feedback has been through the roof!

Sunday service. Concert prep, concert, and concert cleanup. Choir dinner afterwards in Expanding Light dining room. So…how do you follow up all that inspiration in a way that’s relaxing but still uplifted?

You turn on the Christmas tree lights, sit on the couch with your hubby, and watch the original animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas (for probably the 45th time; my favorite Christmas story!). 🙂
