Great to be here, but…

We’re so happy to be at Ananda Washington once again. But I’m having a (temporary) zero energy moment. I wanted to write something more substantial, but simply don’t have it in me.

Why?

Well, we led a very successful four-hour choir workshop today. Followed by a brief moment to collapse after getting home, before we started preparing for tomorrow.

What are we doing tomorrow?

Well, at 8:00 we leave for the Temple. At 8:25 we’ll have choir rehearsal (we’re singing with choir plus doing a duet after the talk).

9:00 is the purification ceremony for which we are blessers. A brief break, then at 10:00 we give Sunday service. Lunch after service, then we get to visit Heart Song Hermitage, Ananda Washington’s beautiful new retreat center.

The only thing to do now is get myself to bed.

A little indulgence

After our big concert last night, I was up early today preparing music for this morning’s class.

Then lunch with dear friends; a few errands around the Village; and an inspiring Q&A with Jyotish and Devi tonight. All in all, it was still a very full day.

So, tonight I decided to indulge myself with a little treat…some potato chips!

A full day

Today was full in a way we haven’t done in quite some time.

We started off first thing this morning with a Sangha meeting (our Ananda outreach ministries version of a monthly staff meeting, which we attended while in Sacramento via Zoom), followed by a few minutes to answer emails before packing up and checking out of the hotel.

Then it was off to my bone marrow transplant follow-up appointment, after which I stopped to get blood drawn for labs.

Then we drove home, where I spent a fair amount of time researching and then scheduling my COVID vaccine “re-do” (it’s not so easy to find primary doses any more, as opposed to boosters).

And, finally, our quartet ran through the entire program for our upcoming Christmas concert.

Everything about the day was lovely, productive, and fun. But I definitely don’t have the energy to write anything particularly meaningful tonight!

The day that got away

Where did this day go, I wonder?!?

Hmmm…

Music meeting; emails; radiation appointment; lunch; a couple of errands; water the garden; sit on the patio; do the dishes; eat dinner; watch a show; wash more dishes; evening affirmations and gratitude time; a few more emails…

Ah, that’s where the day went!

Resting

My plan was to share some thoughts and discoveries about resting.

But it’s been such a full day that I’ll let that wait for another day and simply go and…

Rest.

Absolutely done in

This koala looks how I feel.

It’s been an extremely full and very long day; satisfyingly productive, but exhausting.

Good night!

Random thoughts on a full day

Lovely walk.

Productive music meeting.

Music team lunch with David Eby.

Brainstorming and discussion around rhythm, timing, movement, and body percussion.

Walking down memory lane with old videos of the Santa Clara Vanguard.

Thoughts about how thrilling it is to experience precision, mastery, oneness, and being in the “zone.”

Meanwhile, Ramesha was in the studio for the first day of recording his new album. So, now it’s time to go home and see how he’s doing.

Wrung out

A day spent tackling complicated, bureaucratic-type projects; following up on performance commitments; grieving the loss of a dear member of the community; and manifesting a choral expression of our love for that friend.

A full day which has left me feeling equal parts good about what I accomplished and wrung out from all that I accomplished!

Duality.
