Lingering Lugano influence

Today was our first “town day” together since getting back from Europe.

We usually find time to get coffee amidst our various errands. But this morning was different. We weren’t okay with getting our coffee in a paper cup with a plastic lid. It just didn’t feel right.

So, we went to Flour Garden, where we could request our drinks in ceramic cups. Infinitely more civilized!

I don’t know if this is a permanent change, but we’ll flow with it for as long as it lasts.

Pity the church musicians

Of course I understand why “Spring Forward” happens on a Sunday. Really, I do!

That way the vast majority of (Mon-Fri, 9-5) people can choose to sleep in and ease their transition to Daylight Saving Time.

But pity the poor church musicians, who not only have to show up an hour earlier than usual…we have to sing!

Coffee will be a big part of my morning, for sure.

Coast and redwoods

Enjoying time together (while actually NOT working)

Today’s blog post is pretty much a photo dump of today’s activities.

Things started rather inauspiciously when a tree fell and the power went out for several hours. We were already planning to go to the coast, but it turned out that we couldn’t get a decent coffee except by driving to the coast.

We once again totally enjoyed Cafe Aquatica, as well as the incredible views of the coast.

In the afternoon we once again visited Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, enjoying it just as much as last year, but walking even farther (by accident; we got turned around).
