Wedding bells

The wedding of our dear friends, Uma and Janaka, is almost here!

Family members are arriving at the Village from Argentina and Midwest-USA and lots of details are coming together.

In fact, I’m off to the wedding rehearsal, followed by a choir rehearsal. So, I’m writing my blog now because I really don’t want to turn on the computer when I get home later.

Why? Because that will almost guarantee that I get too bed late and I’m really, really, REALLY trying to get to bed EARLY.

Pre-rehearsal sunset

The sky was so amazing tonight!

On the way to choir rehearsal it took discipline not to pull over and simply enjoy it.

(Not to mention get more photos of it!)

So much joy!

I love how this photo captures the joy shining in all the faces and how, if you look closely, you can feel the bonds of divine friendship flowing through the entire group.

And this was at the beginning of rehearsal, before we had sung a single note!

Our Christmas concert preparations are definitely off to a great start.

Star light, star bright

This is the sight that stopped me in my tracks as I left the Temple after choir rehearsal tonight. Can you see the first star?

These long summer evenings really are magical, reminding me of the impulse from my long ago childhood days.

Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight.

Here we go again

Tonight’s choir rehearsal was cancelled due to so many cases of COVID and flu happening in our community. The December 17 Christmas concert is also in jeopardy.

We certainly don’t relish the thought of pulling the plug on the first concert to include full choir in three years(!), but we really, really don’t want to create a superspreader situation either.

Sigh.

I so hoped we would be beyond this by now. 😕

Photos instead of words

After lots and lots of detail work today, I think I’ll give my brain a rest and share a few photos from this week. 🙂

Spirits were definitely high…
