Life after jet lag

At the moment “life after jet lag” feels like a slightly desperate affirmation.

I don’t know if it’s my faulty memory or if it really is hitting me harder this year. Either way, right now the jet lag is winning.

I sure hope tomorrow is the turning point.

Playing catch up

Ah, if only I was “playing catch” rather than “catching up“!

Yeah, it’s the usual aftermath of SRW, where I get to wade through the emails, voice messages, and tasks that were postponed during the busy week.

At the same time, there are possible new projects and ideas calling for attention. Not to mention the need to start preparing for being out of commission for a couple of months.

The sooner I can knuckle down and catch up on the little stuff, the sooner I can devote my energies to the big stuff.

That’s my affirmation anyway.

Thanksgiving weekend comes to an end

Interestingly enough, this has been an especailly enjoyable and deeply satisfying Thanksgiving. I really couldn’t have stayed any closer to home, but I still managed to connect with family and friends. And I’ve particularly enjoyed focusing on gratitude all weekend long.

Now I’m feeling to wrap things up with one of my favorite affirmations for gratitude (it’s from Affirmations for Self-Healing, by Swami Kriyananda).

Affirmation
I give thanks to the giver behind each gift, and to the one Giver behind all that I receive. My gratitude rises with devotion’s incense to the throne of Omnipresence.
Prayer
I thank Thee, Lord, for all Thy blessings. But most of all, I thank Thee for Thy love.

Including myself

I’ve been struggling — yet again — to take better care of myself. The problem is that giving myself treats is simply not the same as treating myself lovingly.

Thinking about being kind to myself led me to this quote by Swami Kriyananda, and to the thought that “everyone” includes me!

So I’ve turned it into an affirmation:
I hold kindness in my heart for everyone — including myself.
