Ramesha and I feel like we’re living in a sort of in-between world. We can’t do our usual activities and I’m resting as much as I possibly can, but sometimes you just need to put your mind to (a little) something.
This is evidently where my childhood song memories come in.
I received my “Lullabies and Night Songs” book (mentioned in this blog post) and have thoroughly enjoyed reaquainting myself with it. And now I want to share my fully rediscovered song with you.
There are the usual disclaimers, of course (the piano’s out of tune and I’m most definitely not in full voice), but it’s a charming song and I hope you enjoy it.
Many million years ago, when dinosaurs were,
All the mattresses that people had, the floors were.
Many million years ago, sing nonny-hey down!
Children never went to bed, they simply lay down.
Go to sleep, go to sleep,
Go to sleep, my lucky baby!
I love it, absolutely!! Wow! Such a beautiful lullaby
Oooh…I felt like I was listening to radio, by the warm fire, getting sleepy for bed. Beautifully done, even with your report of an out-of-tune piano and not being in full voice. Artistry and consciousness always come through.
Bravissima. Non mi sembra affatto che la tua voce non sia in piena forma. Molto bella questa ninnna nanna.
Un grande abbraccio Gri
