“Our souls are not hungry for fame, comfort, wealth or power. Those rewards create almost as many problems as they solve. Our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter, so that the world will be at least a little bit different for our having passed through it.” —Harold S. Kushner
We started the day enjoying cinnamon rolls and coffee while catching up with fellow singers, who recently returned from travels overseas. We talked and talked and talked…
That was followed by a family Zoom call to connect with my brother and his wife in Sunnyvale. More talking, talking, talking.
A quick bite of lunch, then one final meeting to discuss upcoming choir events and catch up with another friend. No surprise that I’m completely talked out.
I stumbled upon the group, Urban Theory, a few months ago. They intrigued me right from the start and I grew steadily more fascinated with them week by week.
Now I’m ready to acknowledge that I’m a total fan.
Every day I’m on the lookout for their latest Facebook story or reel, and I’m bummed if too many days go by without something new.
Their dancing (it’s called “tutting”) is amazing, and I find the precision absolutely thrilling, but I also love their free and easy social media presence. The fact that they’re Italian is like the icing on the cake!
Hats off to the team who were inspired by a vision, put out tons of energy, and manifested an absolutely wonderful Harvest Festival here at Ananda Village!
I couldn’t go during the day, but attended the Farm-to-Table dinner at The Expanding Light Retreat in the evening, which was a huge success as well.
