Day 1 accomplished

Well, the actual injection (which I received in the “Infusion Center”) was pretty much a piece of cake. It barely stung for a moment going in and there’s no residual pain in my arm at all.

The hardest thing was that the appointment was at 8:00am, which meant leaving our house at 7:15 (or close to that, anyway!).

After registering downstairs, doing paperwork in the Infusion Center, waiting for the dosage to be mixed and delivered, learning about how it all works, receiving the injections, and — finally — waiting fifteen minutes to make sure I didn’t have any adverse reactions, I was definitely tired. But I’m not sure how much of that was the medicine and how much lack of sleep!

We also picked up my oral prescriptions, over-the-counter meds, and arranged for a “specialty” prescription that has to be delivered by mail. Quite a process!

I also managed to finally get ALL my appointments entered into a shared Google calendar so me and my two main helper-angels can see what’s coming up. And I think that’s quite enough for one day.

Good night!

And so it begins

The preliminaries are done; now I embark on the next stage of the adventure.

And an adventure truly is what it feels like.

I can’t help wondering who I’ll be once I reach the other end of the journey, though I’m quite certain I’ll find many treasures along the way.

A blessed Sunday

This was jam-packed Sunday, filled with moments both uplifting and inspiring; practical and productive; even nurturing and fun!

Feeling grateful for it all.

My funnel process

What do I mean by “funnel process?”

Well, for a number of weeks now I’ve been moving through a process, which I’ve recently understood as being how a funnel works.

Starting at the top of the funnel and getting narrower with each of the following steps, I’ve moved through…

1️⃣ Something’s slightly “off” with my bloodwork (blurry and VAGUE)
2️⃣ Tests and more tests (starting to FOCUS in)
3️⃣ Tentative diagnosis (gaining some CLARITY)
4️⃣ Definite diagnosis & initial treatment plan (facing a new REALITY)
5️⃣ Details of the protocol (holy cow, this is actually HAPPENING)

Sooooo…. It’s happening and I’m adjusting. I’m extremely grateful that what I’m dealing with is treatable and I’ve got an incredible care team. I also have an amazing amount of loving support from family, friends, and spiritual community.

Bottom line?

It’s all good. 🥰

Communicated out

Medical appointment phone calls.
Answering questions phone calls.
Informative letters.
Email replies.
Updating calendars.
Setting up Zoom meetings.

No wonder I’m communicated out!

Wrung out to dry

“Wrung out to dry” is definitely how I’m feeling tonight.

It was the third day in a row of driving to town for an early morning appointment.

Then later in the day I took the bull by the horns and overcame resistance and procrastination to write some important communications.

So, I’m perfectly okay with being DONE for tonight.

Mystery photo

I was searching for something entirely different for today’s post, but this photo caught my eye instead. I found it so intriguing that I just had to share it.

There was no description and no caption. I even did a Google search for similar photos with no luck.

Some of the figures look vaguely Egyptian to me, but in other ways it seems more Asian or Indian.

Is it telling a story? Are they headed somewhere in particular? Is it a functional item or purely decorative?

Ah well, I suppose I’ll never know the answers to these questions.
