An unexpected but perfect gift

The photo doesn’t do it justice, but I wanted to share it anyway.

I was deeply touched to receive this as a gift today from our artistically creative friend, Surana.

This beautiful treble clef will most definitely find a place of honor in our new music office!

Here we go again…

At yesterday’s Sunday service, Nayaswami Parvati spoke about being balanced and flexible and able to turn on a dime… and that’s just what is being called for today!

In fact, Sunday service is going back to being entirely online. Ministers, musicians, and audio visual crew will be live in the Temple of Light, but the congregation will be viewing from home.

Hopefully this will be the last time we have to pivot in this direction (praying and crossing my fingers)! 🙏🤞😄

Assignment: no work

Received some extremely helpful counseling from a friend this afternoon.

She gave us an assignment: to spend the rest of the day doing things together as a couple. NO working!

We’ve already enjoyed some good chats and a sunny stroll. Now we’re getting ready to relax with a movie.

Assignment completed!

Appreciating Betty White

I was vaguely aware of Betty White, but mostly from back in the days when I watched network television — namely Mary Tyler Moore and then The Golden Girls.

But with her passing I started to tune-in to what an amazing person she was, and tonight we watched the delightful documentary, “Betty White: First Lady of Television.”

I believe she was truly a great soul who brought a lot of light into this world (not to mention laughter!).

It’s on Netflix but only until January 11. Go watch it, quick!

Hurrying home

Why hurry home?

Because it’s our first official “date night” of 2022, that’s why!

It’s been one of our goals for years. Pizza and a movie await, so bye for now. 😉

Beach therapy

As much as I love the peace and quiet here in the foothills of the Sierra, there are days when I really miss living near the ocean.

I’d give a lot right about now to be able to spend an hour or so walking along the sand, listening to the surf, and giving it all to God.

Clinging to hope

A number of annoying little things had me at the edge of major frustration today, but I kept grabbing on (just barely) to positive perspectives and hopeful thoughts.

There are still a few hours left in the day, but I think I’m past the worst of it.

And tomorrow is a new day (thank goodness)!

Instructions for Flight 2022

Can you tell I’m still working on getting my mojo going in this new year? Luckily, each motivating or inspiring quote helps.

So, I read the above words in a Facebook post by my friend, Sarah Dacey Charles. They were written by her friend, Laverne Jones.

This really resonated for me!

More new year’s wishes

There’s something about New Year’s Eve being on a Friday, and New Year’s Day on Saturday, that makes the whole weekend all about new year energy.

At least, I think that must be why I haven’t been able to settle to much of anything in these days. I’m hoping I’ll feel a shift into productivity tomorrow.

In the meantime, here’s another meaningful quote for the new year.
